Hello....

We bought a couple of new games for our Nintendo the other day, yes I did say Nintendo, the original. My husband picked up "Balloon Fight." This game is addicting.

Last night we watched "Monty Python" the documentary. It was so good! The behind the scenes story of how each actor grew up, how they met each other, and the dynamics of their humor. We watched it free on netflix download. Check it out if you have netflix.

My husband takes some of the most amazing pics with his iphone. Check these out. We took them on the ohio river by the dam. You can walk out onto the rocks. It was a nice cool fall evening, and the sunset was perfect!

I have been trying to soak up this fall weather we have been having. It's quite amazing. I love fall. I have been wearing my lace up boots, they are comfy. I have been trying to get a consignment order done, so I missed yesterday blogging to get a bunch done. Well have a great Wednesday!!

Great Weekend... And a must watch video

We had such a good weekend. It was just the most amazing weather anyone could ask for. We went thrift shopping yesterday and found a few goodies.

I love this belt! It is elastic too! I love the plaid!

I found this awesome camper for the kids. It even folds out to have a bed and a whole kitchen. It was only a little over 2 dollars.

Yesterday whilst reading my etsyfast blog email things a member showed this amazing video she came across. Okay, my obsession with all things small made this super exciting! I could watch it over and over. The story behind it is amazing too!
This is the world's smallest stop motion, all done with a Nikon N8 smartphone, crazy!

"An apple turnover a day keeps the doctor away." thats how it goes right?

We are having some beautiful fall weather today, so I decided it was apple turnover day! I love these. I use pre-made pie crust sometimes, and they end up having a nice flaky finish. I have made my own pie crust in the past, but I wasn't into it this time. They turned out super delicious!

We went to the zoo yesterday, and had a fun time. We went early when they opened and there was a nice cool crisp breeze in the air. I packed a nice lunch and we enjoyed it in between seeing the meerkats and monkeys. They have a carousel there too. I don't remember the last time I had been on it, but the girls were more than thrilled to take a ride. My son said it was a girl ride, so he opted out and waved as we went by (he's such a boy, I love that about him!)

My husband and youngest having a blast!
Well I'm off! Have a great day!

Friday!!!!

I am really looking forward to the weekend. We are supposed to have some beautiful weather. Now if this knot in my neck would go away. I think I have been cross-stitching and embroideriing too much;)
I wanted to give a little sneak peek of a project I've been working on. It took me quite awhile to draw it out. Cross-stitch is quite interesting. You have to have everything symmetrical and it has to look right in square from. I have been having so much doing it though. I love to use bright fun colors.

So I wanted to some fun things around the interweb.
Check out this mid-century modern gingerbread house. It's just awesome!

found here

Do you ever watch the "Steve Brule- For Your Health" shorts. I cannot stop laughing about this "Shushi" one. Check it out here.

Have a great Friday!

A Few Things...

Today my brain just isn't coming up with anything fun or exciting. Do you ever have those days? I have children rolling off of pillows yelling. Maybe that has something to do with it. The word "poopy" is being thrown around. What is it with kids how they love to talk potty humor. I'm not a real stickler on those things. I end of laughing half the time. Sometimes when I listen to my kids in their rooms , I end up laughing to myself. The are always making up funny songs, dances, or ideas.

I did however find a couple of things I really liked on Etsy.
I have followed "SoftSpoken" on flickr for sometime. She just opened up a real shop in Columbia, South Carolina. It looks wonderful.

I really really love this hooded cowl.

I love love these cute little "Strawbunnies" from "The Storybook Rabbit."

Oh yeah, on a side note, I really want to fix up these bikes that are just sitting in our backyard. We bought the suburban in California, and the huffy we bought here in town. They have so much potential. My husband has been working on a bmx bike that he just bought, so now I really want to get these in tip top shape. Possibly a winter project so that I can have them ready to ride in the spring. They really could just get some tires and a new chain and be ready to roll, but I want to get them looking awesome cosmetically. I'll keep you updated and these two.

Have a great Wednesday!

Okay I don't know how I had never seen "My Neighbor Totoro," but I absolutely loved it! First of all Hayao Miyazaki is amazing. We watched it twice the past couple of days and were in utter amazement each time. I have added so many more of his films to my Netflix queue and I can't wait to watch them all.

I found this pattern at the thriftstore last year. It hadn't even been cut! Would this not be so awesome to be for halloween! I'm not sure I'm up to the amount of time it may take to make, but I'm sure glad I found it for 50 cents!

Last year I made cupcake costumes for the girls. Here is my littlest wearing her's. I am not sure what they think they might want to be this year. My littlest mentioned "Supa-woman." They had so much fun wabbling around as little cupcakes.

Experiments and Sewing

Today we did a chemistry experiment. We have been using things you can find in your kitchen. Today we used sugar, warm water, and food coloring. And the result, as you can see a fun little rainbow of colors. Edible too, but I'm not sure I want to drink sugar water.

So, for my birthday, my husband, knowing the way to my heart, bought me a gift certificate to my fave fabric store. My cousin is getting married in October, so I have been thinking about what I could possibly sew for this occasion. I have been dying to make a dress from Wendy Mullins " Built by Wendy Dresses." I love this book. Anyways, I plan on making this one

I found this really pretty fall light wool fabric. It is a green herringbone with little specs of browns and oranges. I fell in love with this fabric ,escpecially for the fall.

Have a wonderful Tuesday!!!

Cardigans....And Dont' forget the giveaway!

Now that fall is here I'm really trying to figure out some pieces that I want to buy.
I know that cardigans are "a must for this season's fashion."(napolean dynamite quote).
Here are a few that caught my fancy!

This one is from "Forever 21." I love the bows.

I spotted this one on "Yesstyle." I love everything about it. I am a big fan of hearts.

These one I spotted on "Overstock.com." I really have a thing for stripes.

Weekend...

My husband brought home a yummy cake for my birthday. I can't remember the last time I had a cake directly addressed to me. Probably when I was a little girl. It was delicous, and will be for several more days.

We love watching movies on the weekend. We rented "Date Night" with Steve Carrell and Tina Fey. It was very entertaining. It brought out all those funny things about marriage that we all have in common.
You know what movie I really like, which I didn't finish the end, I fell asleep, is "The Jerk" with Steve Martin. I laugh hysterically everytime I watch it. It has the feeling of "Dumb and Dumber" another one of my favorites.
One of my favorite parts "All I Need" scene cracks me up.

And have I mentioned, I have it in my head I want some funky boots, such as these from etsy seller "PureVintageClothing"

How cool are these?
